Cannon’s Bedroom Makeover

  1. Metal “C” (Cannon loves the alphabet, especially the letter “C” so he will love this!), 2. Meier Panel Bed (I love the mix of wood and metal), 3. Lighting (I love that this isn’t an ordinary lamp, the shape is unique and fun!), 4. Bedding (I really wanted to add a pop of blue and navy), 5. Avalon Dresser (adds a modern feel to the room), 6. Round Mirror (we are in the process of teaching Cannon shapes and colors, so he will love pointing at this mirror and saying “circle!!), 7. Avalon Nightstand, 8. Roman Shades (I love natural light, so I wanted to keep the shades crisp and clean and mostly white), 9. Dog Rocker (Cannon absolutely loves our dog Max, so when I saw this I knew he had to have it!), 10. Bean bag (what kid doesn’t love bean bags?! Plus it goes with the armchair perfectly), 11. Seating (we love to read Cannon stories every night before bed, so this chair will be both functional and comfortable for us to continue doing that!), 12. Wall Art and here (adds a bit of a nautical theme to the room and matches the wood from the bed), 13. Car Scoot (Cannon is obsessed with cars right now!!!), 14. Rug (ties in perfectly with the quilt and window shades)
Now that Cannon is almost two and a half we’ve been thinking about transitioning him into a “big boy bed” and give his room a makeover so it better fits him, his needs and his style! I decided I have a love/hate relationship with how fast time goes by, but I LOVE watching him grow and learn new things each day! I know each child is different, but I think now is the time to make the change! I’m a little nervous about it but also super excited.

I have always been a fan of RH Baby & Child! RH has recently launched RH Interior Design, and I am thrilled to be working with one of their designers on Cannon’s room. Over the past several months I’ve been browsing their website for inspiration and I created this mood board in preparation for meeting with the RH designer. They have the cutest things for both boys and girls, and these are a few of my favorite pieces! I wanted the overall feel to be a grey/navy color scheme with a modern vibe and a slight nautical twist! So these are my initial ideas, and I’m looking forward to sharing the design process with you! We’ll see what stays and what we might decide to swap out!

Be sure to stay tuned for updates on how the room makeover is coming along!
