Bumpdate: 29 Weeks

^ ASOS t-shirt (seriously the best!!!), Z Supply sweats

How far along are you? 29 weeks. I’ll be 30 weeks on Sunday!

Weight gained? I’ve actually lost five pounds. But my doctor wasn’t too worried about it.

Movement? Yes!!! There is always TONS of movement from both babies!

What is your pregnancy diet or go-to foods? I don’t diet at all when I’m pregnant. Lately I’ve been eating a lot of Acai bowls!

Do you know the genders? Yes!! But we are waiting to announce until they are born!

What caused you to be put on bed rest? In the morning of October 17th (Tuesday of last week) I got up and started randomly gushing blood. I called my husband but he didn’t answer so I called my doctor and he told me to get to the hospital immediately. I then called my sister Rachel and she was able to round up the troops and find my dad and Taylor. My dad was the closest and picked me up. I’ve never seen him so worried! He was flying down the freeway and got me to the hospital in record time. Taylor got to the hospital a couple of minutes later along with Rachel and my mom. I was so scared something had happened to the babies… I asked the nurse if they would be ok and she said she didn’t know. Finally she hooked me up to the monitors and we heard the babys’ perfect heartbeats. I looked at Tay and he was crying and shaking. It was very scary for our family. My contractions started and were 1-3 minutes apart, but we got those to calm down. I got a steroid shot for the baby’s lungs and was able to leave the hospital a couple days later. It turns out I had a slight placental abruption so now I am on bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy.

What can/can’t you do while on bed rest? I’m such a homebody but when you’re told to lay low and stay on bedrest it gets old really fast. I feel like anytime I start to do anything I start spotting (it’s very, very light – not gushing like the first incident. And I keep my doctor notified!).

When are you due? Do they think you will have them early? My due date is January 7th but we are definitely expecting them in December. Every week, even every day counts!!!

Did you have two eggs put in for IVF? Or did your eggs split? We put two eggs in and both took! You can read more about the details of my journey in this post.

I can’t believe I will be 30 weeks on Sunday!!! When I was in the hospital last week I couldn’t sleep one night so I ordered a bunch of super cute sweats and pajamas (here, here and here). If you’re needing some new clothes to lounge around in, these are my favorite!

Thank you all so much for your prayers and well wishes! We will keep these precious babies cooking! If you have any advice for me or questions for me, leave them in the comments below!

  1. Bedrest is sooo boring but totally worth it. I’m sure You’ve been told this, but everyday is a blessing. Enjoy the snuggles with your two other babies and hanG tight. I was on bedrest this summer for 10 weeks with a 1.5 year old. FOMO was my life but it was totally worth it. Sending prayers your way.

  2. Ive done bedrest with each of my pregnancies and it is hard but so worth it. My favorite thing was to organize drawers – so my husband would bRing me a drawer in bed and i would organize each one and then he would take it back and bring me another.
Also, ordering groceries through smiths clicklist for delivery helped me feel like i was contributing and being less of a burden on everyone else.
It is amazIng what we go through to get babies here. Good luck! ❤️

  3. Im so glad EVERYTHING is ok with your precious babies. I was also on bedrest for my PREGNANCY. JUst take it seriously and dont get up too much! My water broke early and our DAUGHTER was born at 26 weeks but she is a healthy BEAUTIFUL 4 yr Old Now! Get these babies to 32 weeks and you will be able to breathe a sigh of relief! for the next 2 weEks, play it safe, stay in bed and Let your Hubby and sisters take care Of the kids and you!

  4. I was wondering if thats what it was when you posted about it the first time! Thats exactly what i had a year ago with my baby at 34 weeks but my bleeding was Was internal so i didnt know right away. We went to the hospital by chance and ended up having an emegEncy c seCtion. Abruptions can be terrifying!! Im so glad you and your Babies are okay. Prayers for the rest of your pregnancy ❤️

  5. Sending you best wishes for healthy remainder of your pregnancy and birth. Maybe you could start reading a series to your kids (Anne of Green Gables or Harry POtter) to help pass the time and create some positive memories surrounding the bed rest. xo

  6. The exact same thing happened to me. They couldn’t really explain why it had happened, but my baby boy came so healthy and happy at 40 weeks. i AM THINKING OF YOU AND PRAYING FOR A SMOOTH REMAINDER OF YOUR PREGNANCY AND LABOR 🙂
