Happy Friday! ย As you may know from my Instagram, I LOVE to escape and get in a good workout whenever I can. Whether it is hiking with my family, going on a long Saturday run, or attending early-morning group fitness classes, there is no better feeling. Right now I am training for a few half marathons in the spring and a full marathon in June (YIKES). I have never pushed myself to do a full marathon, so I’m a little nervous.

A lot of you have asked about my training schedule. I have made one that works best for me, but I follow Hal Higdeon Marathon training schedule as well. I cross train quite a bit with group fitness classes at the gym, so my running schedule is more flexible. Below is a look at my schedule. Remember, I am not an expert by any means. I just do what works for me and it would be fun to share.:)

With being as active as I am, I am ALWAYS on the look out for new workout clothes. In fact, the need to find new work out clothes could be my worst habit. It has become somewhat of an addiction! Nordstrom has a great selection and I LOVE the Zella Pants in today’s post. Below I have listed other items that I am loving from Nordstrom.

  1. Wow! That is a serious schedule, I guess with a half marathon and full marathon you have to be prepared. This post makes me feel like starting to better routine. My husband and I talked about doing a 5K together. I think I’ll bug him about it this weekend. Thanks for the motivation! XO, Maria

  2. Hi Emily, I’ve been hoping you’d do a post like this! Do you think you could either answer some questions or do another post with a additional information? Specifically, what does your “speed work” look like? I’m so slow, and I’d like to increase my speed. Also, weird stuff like…do you stop mid-run to use the restroom, or are there tips for not consuming as much water during the run so as not to stop? Thanks!

  3. Love the Zella brand at Nordstrom! It is one of their private label brands and they have nailed it. I particularly love their Z 5 (short sleeve) and Z 6 (long sleeve) Tees which come in an assortment of gorgeous colors with very flattering ruching on the sides. A nice change when you want a little more coverage. All the best on your training schedule…totally impressed!

  4. Good for you for signing up for a full marathon! I’ve only even run a 5K but I hope to complete a 10K this summer and possibly a half-marathon? I’ve never heard of Zella, but those leggings look really nice! I need to get a new pair of leggings for running!

  5. I’ve always done that same program whenever I’m training for my races! It’s the best! And I always switch it too so I’m not working out on Sunday ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Love this so much! I’ve always loved that your blog has awesome fashion posts but occasionally mixed with lifestyle and fitness (my passion!). Good luck with your training and upcoming marathon. I’ve done several halfs but haven’t completed a full yet either :-/ Bucket list!

  7. Way to go girl!! I have never braved the marathon distance, so I think that is awesome! I do love the half marathon though, and I feel such a runner’s high after my long runs!! I am going to be doing a half marathon in May and I am pretty excited about it ๐Ÿ™‚ It will be my first one since having my little girl. I follow a similar schedule when I train, and I find that it works really well. I got it from Marathon Rookie and love it!

  8. Hi! Quick question to you: are you breastfeeding? I ask because I’m curious what sports bra(s) you wear for running! I had my baby 2.5 months ago and I’m a huge runner, but it’s been really hard to get back to longer distances because my boobs hurt due to breastfeeding ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks!!!!

  9. Congrats! I just found your blog. I have done a ton of half marathons and made the jump to a full marathon the same weekend my baby girl turned 1! It was a huge goal and much harden than a half, but I’m glad I did it! Now, preggo with baby #2 and thinking I will try for a faster half time after this baby so I don’t have to squeeze in as many long runs! Best of luck!
