These were so much fun for the kids! I loved that they look like little Santas. They were a major hit and super easy to throw together!

Pottery Barn Kids’ Aprons (sold out, but Valentine versions now available)

I had so much fun putting this party together! Capri didn’t have a birthday party this year because we weren’t in our new house yet, so I promised her we would do a Christmas party! We decided on a cookie-decorating party. The girls were in heaven with lots of sprinkles and frosting! My very favorite part of the party were these darling little aprons and I am so sad to say they are sold out! Anyway, I have listed my cookie recipe below. This is my typical Sunday-afternoon-I-need-something-sweet recipe, seriously SO good! I may have eaten one… or ten too many! Have a wonderful day!

Sugar Cookie Recipe

Cookie Dough:

2 cups butter

6 eggs

2 cups sugar

2 t vanilla

2 t almod extract

6 t baking powder

7 cups flour

Mix wet ingredients with sugar then slowly add baking powder and flour. Mix well. Refrigerate for 30 min. Bake 375 for 7 min.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 pound cream cheese frosting

3/4 pound unsalted butter at room temperature

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp almond extract

1 1/2 powdered sugar

  1. Congratulations to the winner, she seems to be a well deserved recipient!!

How adorable is this party?! My daughter is 2 and has her first school Christmas party today where they’ll be decorating cookies. I love this time of year, so many fun things to do for kids. You’ve also given me a new idea. I always put citrus slices or cucumbers in my water when entertaining but I hadn’t thought about adding cranberries-thanks for the tip!

  2. Beautiful party… Capri is lucky to have you for a mama. You always throw her wonderful parties with her friends!

I’m happy you chose the winter that you did for your giveaway… what a tough ride she has had lately! Wow… Perspective.

  6. I’m going to be the one to say it…your house looks like you copied Rachel’s house. I’ve noticed that you seem to copy her style too, like buying the same bags and shoes. Or is it that you share?

  7. Hi Emily, what a wonderful party you gave Capri! So adorable :). Such a lucky little girl.
I will definitely make the cookies right before Christmas and they look easy :). Does T stand for tsp or tbsp? We here in Denmark have other measurements that’s why :).
    Happy Weekend!

  8. Perfect party for the kids! Love your glass beverage dispenser!! Can you share where it’s from? Thank you kindly (^_^)

  9. Thanks for the recipes! I have quest on the FrOsting recipe. When you say “1 pound cream cheese frosting” do you mean from a Store bought container or is the word frosting a typo? Also, what’s the measurement for the powdered sugar, cups, teaspoOns, pOunds…?
