Every year when August rolls around and it’s time for the kids to go back to school I get emotional thinking about how grown up they are, and I get excited for all of the things they will do and learn this year! Being a mom is the hardest thing but also the most rewarding thing – and at the end of the day I cuddle up to my four kids and can’t believe how lucky I am that they’re mine and I am theirs.
One of my favorite quotes is by Jeffrey R. Holland and reads: “To all mothers in every circumstance, including those who struggle – and all will – I say, ‘Be peaceful. Believe in God and yourself. You are doing better than you think you are.'” So many times as mothers we get overwhelmed and frustrated with all that is expected of us and it’s easy to get down on ourselves. But in reality, while we are each different women with difference backgrounds and different ways of raising kids, we all have one thing in common: WE ALL WANT THE VERY BEST FOR OUR BABIES.
I’m excited to be partnering with Pampers Pure again today to help roll out their new movement #PureGoals that celebrates the great lengths that moms – & Pampers – will go through to give their babies the best of everything. And the best to me and my babies is probably different than the best to you and your babies, and that’s totally fine! But as mothers NOTHING will stop us from giving our babies the best of what they need.
When I think of my own personal #PureGoals the biggest thing that comes to mind is comforting my babies and ensuring that they are as happy and content as possible. Right now both Graden and London are teething and are super grumpy because of it (it’s so sad!!). All four of my babies have had a hard time when it comes to teething, but we somehow push through!! I think this time around is more difficult since I now have two babies that need me and need comfort simultaneously, so that’s been a balancing act. And I know that every baby teethes, it’s a part of life! You mamas know what I’m talking about, but for me #PureGoals is the lengths I will go to, to make my babies comfortable during this time. Whether that’s snuggling them when I’m in the middle of 10 things or bathing them or holding them nonstop. Whatever they need, I will do it. I think moms all have a different perspective on how best to manage teething – for me it’s about constant support.
Side note, you might be wondering why Graden isn’t in these photos with London. Let me tell you!! The day that we were taking these photos he was NOT having it and had just fallen asleep right before after fighting his nap for the longest time. So as much as I wanted him in the photos I wasn’t going to wake him and force him. That wasn’t what was best for him in that situation, and I promised them that I would always have their best interest in mind. So although it didn’t go as planned, it was totally fine and both babies were happy in that moment. And to me as a mom, that’s helping me get one step closer to my #PureGoals!
I also want to add that along with bad experiences with teething, all four of my babies have had super sensitive skin. With each of my kids I’ve been determined to find the best product that will help them with their eczema. And what I used with Capri was different than what I used with Cannon, and now with the twins we’re still trying to find what works best for them but we aren’t giving up! The Pampers Pure Collection diapers and wipes have been really great for both of them so I’m glad we made the switch from previous diapers and wipes we’ve used. But if you have any favorite products for sensitive skin I’d love to hear what’s worked for you! We have so much to learn from one another!
Whether you’re wanting to create the perfect nursery for your baby or trying every milk available to make sure they are getting all the nutrients they need, we each have our own story or #PureGoals for our babies and we need to come together as a tribe of women to share and encourage and support one another.
I’d love to hear your #PureGoals story! Share in the comments below!
