Morning Routine

Hello and happy Monday!

I am a big believer that how you start each morning will set the tone for how the rest of the day will unfold. I’ve noticed this mindset has been especially true for me during these last few months, working from home and adjusting to the effects of coronavirus.

Setting my mind into a routine has provided me the structure I need to keep up with my busy schedule, so today I thought it would be nice to share it with you!

PLAN THE DAY AHEAD

I start planning my day the night before! Having a visual list of goals and tasks to accomplish the next day helps put my mind at ease. I always wake up the next morning feeling more grounded and eager to get the day started!

START YOUR DAY

With my kiddos, each morning looks slightly different and that’s okay! Some days we snuggle in bed and read a book, other days we hit the ground running.

When I stopped going into the office, it was important to incorporate a ritual into my morning routine that would stay constant, regardless of what my morning holds. Having a set moment each morning keeps me grounded and allows me to slow down and refocus for the day. For me, drinking a glass of lemon water each morning is the perfect way to get my day back on track – plus there are so many amazing benefits you can read about here!

I typically use this time to prioritize my to-do list and create a schedule for the day.

GET MOVING

Whether it’s a long run with my family or a quick ab exercise at home, getting my workout done each morning helps set everything into motion. Once my body and mind are moving, I feel so much more productive and have the boost of energy needed to push through the busy day ahead. You can find my go-to workout resources here!

MANAGE YOUR MINDSET

After I’ve finished my workout, I try to get ready the same as I would if I were going into the office. I am the queen of cozy, so while I’ve been working from home, it’s been so tempting to stay snuggled in sweats everyday – but, I’ve noticed that when I ‘get ready’ for the day, I always feel more productive. Some days this means doing my make up and slipping into my favorite jeans, while other days it just means wearing slightly more elevated loungewear.

What helps you start the day feeling grounded and ready to tackle anything?

  1. I’m also a big fan of writing down goals and keeping up with them for that very same reason–to see my progress and get encouraged to keep going. If there’s no feeling of progress, then motivation can dwindle before you accomplish what you set out to. Great article!. Hi, I enjoy reading your blog
